Dorval Exchange
Project: Installation of Roadway Drainage Channels on the Dorval Interchange
Product Used: ABT Polydrain Interceptor A-67
Project Overview:
As part of the rehabilitation and redevelopment of multiple sections of the Dorval Interchange — a critical component of Quebec’s highway network — ABT Polydrain Interceptor A-67 trench drains were installed to ensure reliable and long-lasting surface water management.
Technical Features of the Installed System:
Precast polymer concrete trench drain, specifically engineered for heavy-duty roadway applications.
Integrated one-piece surface grates, ensuring structural strength, vehicle safety, and a smooth driving surface.
Built-in 0.6% longitudinal slope, allowing efficient linear drainage without the need for additional grading.
Uniform 12-inch depth, compatible with highway-grade infrastructure designs.
Discharge sumps up to 1.7 meters deep, enabling rapid collection and conveyance of stormwater into the underground network.
Certified and approved by the MTQ, making it one of the few trench drain systems authorized for provincial infrastructure use.
System Advantages:
High resistance to dynamic loads, ideal for heavy-traffic zones and transportation corridors.
Modular installation across multiple sections while maintaining consistent hydraulic performance.
Exceptional durability under harsh Quebec climate conditions (freeze-thaw cycles, deicing salts, abrasion).
Fully compliant with road safety and winter maintenance standards.
Conclusion:
The Polydrain Interceptor A-67 proved to be the optimal linear drainage solution for the demanding conditions of the Dorval Interchange project, combining hydraulic efficiency, structural resilience, and regulatory compliance.
